Project New Balcony

The Problem

A specialist building company were building a new balcony on a house, space was restricted and they needed steel beams lifting into position. The beams were too big and heavy for manual lifting and space was too tight for a conventional crane.

The Solution

Wobeck Crane Services were contacted and a spider crane was selected for the project. It could navigate on its tracks into the limited area at the back of the property and then expand its out-riggers to stabilise itself for the job of lifting the steel support beams into position. The beams were progressively lifted into position throughout the day to provide the support structure for the new balcony.

We had a borehole installation in a difficult position across uneven, wet, boggy ground and the pump needed removal so that a new pump could be installed. We could get a normal crane but it would have to be extremely large due to site restrictions, meaning a significant cost. The guys at Wobeck and their crane were fantastic. The crane tracked across the ground without a problem and carried out the work a good deal more cost effectively than would have been the case with a bigger lorry mounted alternative.
